Run. Drive. Sleep? Repeat.

I was able to run the Ragnar Relay with my brother in Utah. It was awesome. It is a 188-mile race from Logan to Park City, Utah that lasts over 2 days.

You take 12 people and 2 vans to run the thing. We did pretty well. It took us 30 hours, 27 minutes. That placed us 139th overall, which out of 750 teams is good. We were only 13 hours behind the winner (BYU XC), which is bad.

It was such a cool experience to hang out with my brother, see the beautiful scenery, and put myself through the pain of a race.

It reminded me of the good ol' days of high school & college when I ran track. Although, I still think I should stick with the 800m. That is still more fun that 9.6 miles.

Each of us ran three legs in the race. So basically you run your leg, follow your teammates in the van, try to sleep and then do it all over again. It is more of a party than a race, so that is cool. My legs were:

#9 - easy - 3.5 miles - flat
#21 - hard - 9.6 miles - flat
#33 - very hard - 3.6 miles - 9.7 % incline or HELL

I forgot how beautiful Utah is, and I really noticed this when I was running by some lake at 2:30 in the morning. It was warm, the skies were clear, it was quiet, and a nice crescent moon was out. A cool experience. I also thought, what am I doing here? I could be at home in bed with Blaire?

Still a cool experience, we're gonna do it again.
