Thursday in Fiji: Colo-i-Suva & the Fiji Temple—finger lickin’ good

Still feeling under the weather, we decided to go to Colo-i-Suva this morning. It is a cool rainforest just outside of Suva. It is funny how different things are here. You drive up to the entrance and there is no one there. We confirmed on the sign that it should be open. As we were going to leave, a guy runs out of a hut from across the street to us. My dad pays the admission, which like most everything else here was dirt cheap, and we were on our way.

What a beautiful trek. Blaire loved snapping pictures of all the plant life. It was everywhere! So many plants and bugs to see as you walked along the well mapped out trail. I can understand how easy it is to get lost in a rainforest. It is just so thick and dense out there, really amazing. I continued to look to my side to see if Kate or Locke appeared out of nowhere—but no luck.

In the evening we went to a temple session with my parents. They had two missionaries that finished their missions, so it was their last missionary experience before being released. It was really nice to go again. The temple workers are so nice here.

All of that tired me out, so for the rest of the evening we stayed at home and watched The Office. And just like old times, my dad picked up KFC for us to enjoy. The colonel’s food is just as tasty in Fiji, in fact, it’s finger lickin’ good.
