Greed

When will this mess end? I recently read that for banks receiving federal bailout money, nearly 9 out of 10 of the most senior executives from 2006 are still employed. So the same people that screwed up their company and got them in the mess are expected to get them out of it. Fantastic!

Maybe we are in this problem due to greed? Maybe a little prudence and conservatism would have been appropriate? Look, I'm a capitalist and love an open economy, but this is crazy. Make them pay for their mistakes. Romney was right, let the Big 3 fail and rebuild, that is the only way to ever compete with Japan. Otherwise they will keep on churning out mostly crappy cars from Detroit (Ford Flex excluded).

And note to Washington, if heaven forbid you give a company $$$, please make some requirements attached to it. That means no corporate trips to spas (AIG) and private jets for executives (Big 3 & CitiGroup).

Would it hurt us to be a little more conservative with our money and take a little more responsibility for our actions?

If not, can I get some of the bailout money? I'd be cool with $1 million. That isn't asking a lot.
