Consumer Corner XII: Living Scriptures - The Nightmare Continues

You might move over 3,000 miles away, but some bad things in life find a way to track you down.

Maybe you read some of my previous posts regarding my disdain for Living Scriptures. If not you can read them here and here.

Now that you are fully up-to-speed, you can see my frustration when our doorbell rings here in Florida. I'm busy holding William and Preston is running around the house. I open the door, and guess who, Satan? OK, not that bad, but it's our friends from Living Scriptures!

The summer is here, which means are new RMs are now working a summer job peddling their goods as a missionary service.

But thanks to Blaire, I've learned my lesson. He asked to share the movies and give his spiel, but I quickly told him no, we aren't interested. He asked why and I told him we had a bad experience.

It was great, he kept on asking why, to have me explain. He was trying to sympathize with me like he thinks we aren't going to heaven if we don't buy the DVDs (haven't I heard that before?). I then used what Blaire taught me, and to be honest, the great lessons I honed in D.A.R.E. back in the 80's -- be a broken record! I said, "oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no", and just closed the door. So although someone in our ward gave him our address, I wouldn't "pay it forward" nor give out the ward directory.

Let's just hope they don't visit us again, and either way, they are still on the official Ostler Family Blacklist.
