I know you are a good manager. I appreciate all that you have done for our team. But please, please, please, if you could do one huge favor for me, please don't select Jonathon Bornstein to go to South Africa.
He is a great kid, I love him. And I know he played for you at Chivas USA. But really, can our left back position be that bad? There are countless players I'd rather see there. . . .
Heath Pearce . . . .
Damarcus Beasley . . . .
Jonathon Spector . . . .
Carlos Bocanegra . . . .
Steve Cherundolo . . . .
or basically anyone else.
We both know he is a huge liability for us. Now, I know he is a god in Honduras for his stoppage time goal against Costa Rica, but he continually fails to impress on the international level.
He looks like a high school kid playing with professionals. All out of sorts. And think of Holland, it could have been a lot worse. But really, he makes a dumb foul with the shirt pull, then a PK goal. Gets beat the whole night down the right wing, and deflects in the 2nd goal. I'm just surprised you continue to give him a look. Edgar Castillo can't play better than that? I find that hard to believe.
Thanks for your consideration and good luck with your plans for the World Cup.
Sincerely,
